President’s Symposium & White Paper Project: JC Weiss – Who Buys, Why Do They Buy, and How Much Will They Pay?

Description:

Whether you are starting a lifestyle business, a small firm, or the next Under Armour, you need to know how to finance it.  Where does the money come from, and why?  How do you find it, or how does it find you?  Mr. Weiss will tackle these 3 simple questions mentioned in the title of this talk and why they are important and so hard to answer.

Professor John C. Weiss III, M.B.A. is a Senior Lecturer with over 45 years of leadership experience in banking and the venture capital industry, with extensive experience and passion for social entrepreneurship. His professional experience includes founding and co-founding several organizations and businesses, served in their leadership positions and successfully led one of those firms through a public stock offering and listing on the NASDAQ. Weiss has also raised and managed in excess of $125 million for several venture capital funds, growth businesses and non-profit organizations. He sits on several local boards including the University System of Maryland Foundation, the Engineering Society of Baltimore, the BioTechnical Institute of Maryland, the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Bioscience Committee, and Keswick Multi-Care.
